UnitedHealthcare Expands Its Individual & Family Plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace to 30 States

UnitedHealthcare has announced a significant expansion of its Individual & Family Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace plans, now offering coverage in 30 states. This increase includes new coverage areas in Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming, as well as additional counties in 13 other states.

With the inclusion of these new coverage areas, UnitedHealthcare now provides Individual & Family ACA Marketplace plans in over 1,250 counties across the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

Individuals and families can enroll in these plans during the open enrollment period from Nov. 1, 2024, through Jan. 15, 2025, by visiting uhc.com/exchange.

UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family ACA Marketplace plans help make affordable benefits accessible to individuals who may not qualify for or cannot afford other types of coverage, with many qualifying for plans as low as $0 per month based on their income. In 2024, 90% of UnitedHealthcare's Individual & Family ACA Marketplace plan members received subsidies to help reduce their health insurance premiums, and over half of its ACA Marketplace plan members pay $0 in monthly premiums in 2024.

Individual & Family ACA Marketplace plans play a key role in expanding health care coverage by offering a variety of options to people who don’t have access to either employer-funded coverage, Medicare, Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Highlights of UnitedHealthcare’s Individual & Family ACA Marketplace plan offerings include:[i]

  • Access to adult dental and vision coverage with $150 glasses frame allowance
  • Prescriptions as low as $8 at more than 40,000 network pharmacies
  • $0 unlimited virtual urgent care
  • Up to $150 in rewards for completing health- and account-related tasks
  • $0 digital fitness classes plus discounted membership to thousands of in-person gyms through One Pass Select®

Additionally, UnitedHealthcare Individual & Family ACA plans provide both English- and Spanish-language support at every touchpoint, from the seamless enrollment experience at uhc.com/exchange to the UHC app which offers easy access to health plan ID cards, benefits and claims information, a cost estimator tool and 24/7 chat with a member advocate.
