About Joy Fitzgerald
Joy Fitzgerald was named senior vice president and chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer of UnitedHealth Group in June 2021. She is responsible for leading the enterprise inclusion and diversity strategy to ensure key practices are integrated into every facet of the business to advance equity inside and outside the company. She also serves as a partner and strategic advisor to UnitedHealth Group’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Councils.
Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, Fitzgerald served as the chief diversity and inclusion officer at Eli Lilly. Before that, she served as chief diversity officer for Rockwell Collins, an aerospace company.
Fitzgerald was named to the inaugural list of “Elite 100 Black Women Executives” by Diversity Woman Magazine and recognized as one of the “Most Powerful Black Women in Corporate Diversity” by Black Enterprise and as a “Rising Star” by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association.
