About Dame Vivian Hunt
Dame Vivian Hunt was named chief innovation officer of Optum in October 2022. Before joining UnitedHealth Group, Hunt was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company, where she served as the managing partner for the United Kingdom and Ireland. Before that, she led the Life Sciences practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
During her career, Hunt worked in the health care industry to help tackle complex issues in the public and private sectors. In addition to her client responsibilities, Hunt led research on productivity, leadership, stakeholder capitalism and ESG. Hunt started her career in the Peace Corps, serving as a midwife in rural Senegal.
In 2018, Hunt was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to the economy and women in business. Hunt earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology and an MBA from Harvard.
