What are your passions away from work?
“Outside of work, I am passionate about doing things that enhance my knowledge, reading non-fiction books, psychology books, human history, and sometimes watching YouTube videos. I also spend quality time with my husband and my cat.”
What does a day in your life look like at work?
"My work starts with either a very hot coffee or a very cold one, depending on my mood. Since we're still working from home, I usually wake up 30 minutes before my shift. Then I open the tools needed as a subject matter expert for our line of business, after I log in into my Teams chat and check on the questions raised by my team. After that, I make sure to check on my email to see if there are any urgent things I need to prioritize first. After that, I'll pull up the SOPs, job aids, and review guides to see if there are any changes made. By then, I start supporting my team by answering their process and clinical-related questions.”
What is the best part of your job?
“Being able to share my knowledge and expertise to help ease the team's pressure and anxiety when handling complicated and tough cases."
How do you incorporate Quality and Patient Safety into your work?
“By making sure that each decision I share with the team is in line with the SOPs, review guides, job aids, and business policies. Also, I see to it that when I share details regarding a specific case, I make sure to protect the patient's privacy.”
What words would you say to a nurse after a challenging day?
Step back and try to breathe. It will never be a great day everyday but it will surely become a great day someday.
