UnitedHealth Group and Cisco to Hold Joint Press Conference Unveiling Major New Health Care and Technology Initiative
What:
UnitedHealth Group [NYSE: UNH] and Cisco [NASDAQ: CSCO] have scheduled
a joint press conference to unveil a major new health care initiative
before lawmakers and industry officials on Capitol Hill.
The event will include a live demonstration of the new technology that
will dramatically enhance the way patients and physicians interact. As
part of the announcement, UnitedHealth Group is making a significant
investment that will support the launch of this comprehensive,
nationwide program that will be the first of its kind. The initiative
will combine state-of-the-art Cisco technology with health resources
from UnitedHealth Group to expand physicians’ reach into both rural and
other underserved areas and to help mitigate disparities in health care
delivery.
UnitedHealth Group will also announce a partnership with Project HOPE,
the international health education and humanitarian assistance
organization, as one of the first organizations using the new
technology for a program targeting the chronically ill in New Mexico.
