UnitedHealth Group and the United Health Foundation have received a variety of awards and recognition.
Recent highlights include:
UnitedHealth Group
- UnitedHealth Group has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Dow Jones North America Index annually since 1999.
- The association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting named
UnitedHealth Group the Founding Member of the MN Chapter in 2009. In
addition, UnitedHealth Group will fill two spots on the Minnesota
chapter’s board.
- Community Health Charities honored UnitedHealth Group with a Campaign Leadership Award for increasing employee pledges during the annual giving campaign by more than $200,000 in 2008 compared to the previous year’s campaign.
- The 12th annual LATINA Style 50, a survey by LATINA Style Magazine, ranked UnitedHealthcare one of the 50 best companies for Latinas to work for in the United States.
- A Minnesota Census of Women Directors and Corporate Officers conducted by the College of St. Catherine, St. Paul, Minn., resulted in Honor Roll placement for UnitedHealth Group in 2008.
- UnitedHealth Group received a 95 percent score on the Corporate Equality Index, Human Rights Campaign, 2008.
- The U.S. Green Building Council awarded UnitedHealth Group Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Gold-Level Certification in 2008 for its newly constructed building in Minnetonka, Minn.
- UnitedHealthcare’s Spanish-language Web site was awarded Outstanding
Achievement in Web Site Development in the 2008 WebAwards by the Web
Marketing Association.
- The Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named UnitedHealthcare the 2008 Corporation of the Year for its commitment to local Hispanic businesses and the consumer community.
- The Texas Association of Mexican-American Chambers of Commerce named UnitedHealthcare the Health Plan of Choice in 2008.
- UnitedHealthcare’s Latino Health Initiative and an outreach program by the company’s Asian initiatives team designed to help reduce health care disparities among Chinese-Americans received Recognizing Innovation in Multicultural Health Care Awards by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) in 2008.
- In 2008, the National Black Chamber of Commerce named UnitedHealthcare
the first-ever health benefit provider of choice for its nearly 100,000
member businesses.
UnitedHealth Group Leadership
- Reed Tuckson, M.D., UnitedHealth Group executive vice president and chief of Medical Affairs, was named one of the “100 Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America” in the Feb. 2009 issue of Black Enterprise magazine.
- The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal selected Gail
Boudreaux, UnitedHealth Group executive vice president and president,
UnitedHealthcare, for a 2009 Industry Leader Award. The award honors
local women who have risen to the top of their field as innovators and
are leading trends and breaking new ground within their industries.
- Gail Boudreaux, UnitedHealth Group executive vice president and president, UnitedHealthcare, was ranked No. 38 on Fortune's list of the "50 Most Powerful Women" and No. 54 on Forbes "100 Most Powerful Women" in business for 2009.
- Jeannine Rivet, executive vice president, UnitedHealth Group, was honored by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal
with the 2009 Career Achievement Award. The award recognizes a female
executive’s leadership, exceptional performance and involvement in the
Twin Cities business community.
- Corliss Hill, national director, UnitedHealthcare’s Generations of Wellness, received a 2009 National Power Award from the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, for her efforts in raising awareness of stroke among the African American community.
- Ebony magazine included Reed Tuckson, M.D., on its list of the “Power 150: The Most Influential Blacks in America” for 2008.
- Modern Healthcare named Reed Tuckson, M.D., one of the 2008 “Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare.”
- Corporate Secretary named Danette Smith, Secretary to the Board of Directors, Corporate Secretary of the Year for 2008.
United Health Foundation
- America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) selected the PEACE of Heart initiative for a 2009 Community Leadership Award Honorable Mention. Through the PEACE of Heart initiative, UnitedHealth Group and the United Health Foundation are helping fight the epidemic of heart related disease in minority, low-income communities.
- UnitedHealth Group and the United Health Foundation were honored with the Children’s Health Fund’s 2009 Corporate Award for ongoing support of the Fund’s community clinic and health care outreach to underserved children and families in the South Bronx, N.Y.
- The United Health Foundation received the National Healthcare Consumer Advocacy Award in 2008 from the Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy.
