Advancing health and well-being.

For a child battling life-threatening illness, the experience of a wish being granted can bring strength, hope and joy. UnitedHealth Group has pledged $1.5 million per year to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the next three years, with the intention of granting some 600 very special wishes.

Preparing the next generation of health care professionals.

Sharisa Simon of Springdale, Maryland, became interested in a health-related career while participating in Herbert Flower High School's prestigious Science and Technology Program.

Encouraging community service.

Serving hot meals to people with nowhere to turn. Sorting through donated items, matching them specifically to a family in need. Mentoring a young man who needs to build the "soft skills" it takes to land that first job.
